Contact

Reach Aegis & Spear Cyber at contact@aegisandspear.com. Initial conversations typically begin with a thirty-minute introductory call, no fee or commitment. Response within two business days.

The most useful way to start a conversation about an engagement is by email at contact@aegisandspear.com. A written first message gives both sides a clearer starting point than a phone call: the question on the table is captured, the relevant context is on record, and the response can be substantive rather than scheduled. Response within two business days.

What to include in a first message

A few specific items make the response more useful.

  • The question you are trying to answer. Whether the driver is an upcoming audit, an executive concern, a recent incident, a contract requirement, or a board-level question, naming the underlying decision helps shape the right engagement scope.
  • The regulatory or operational environment. Industry, regulatory framework exposure (HIPAA, GLBA, SOC 2, ABA cyber guidance, PCI DSS, NIST 800-171, others), and any compliance timeline that is already on the calendar.
  • The engagement type, if you already have one in mind. Penetration test (external, internal, wireless, or physical), social engineering assessment, compliance audit, hygiene assessment, or strategic advisory work. If the right engagement type is not yet clear, say so. The services page covers each engagement type in operational detail, and an introductory call can sort out the right scope.
  • Rough size of the in-scope environment. Employee count, asset count, network segments, or whatever order-of-magnitude reference applies. Precision is not expected at first contact; order of magnitude is enough to gauge scoping.
  • Timeline drivers. Audit windows, contract deadlines, board meetings, or any other date that constrains the engagement window.

Sensitive details (network diagrams, credentials, client lists, anything covered by an existing nondisclosure agreement) should wait until a mutual NDA is in place. The introductory call typically initiates that step.

What happens next

Most initial conversations start with a thirty-minute call within a few business days of the first message. The call is no fee and no commitment. The purpose is to confirm the question on the table, sketch the rough shape of an engagement that would answer it, and identify whether Aegis & Spear is the right fit. Engagements where Aegis & Spear is not the right fit are named as such, with referrals where possible.

If the conversation produces an engagement scope, a written proposal follows within a week, covering scope, fixed fee, timeline, deliverables, and rules of engagement. Active work begins after the proposal is signed. The approach page covers engagement mechanics in more depth across all service lines.
